Club Excellence Conference

The Club Excellence Conference is the only conference of its kind targeted for ski and snowboard club leaders, including athletic staff, board members and parent leaders.  Taking place immediately before the USSA Congress meetings allows attendees to not only learn and network at the conference but also to be involved in the various committees of the USSA sports.

      • Lieutenant Colonel Eric Weis, Ph.D.
        Lieutenant Colonel Eric J. Weis serves on the faculty of the Strategic Leadership Department at the National Defense University. LTC Weis is an active duty Infantry officer with over 22 years of commissioned Army service and has served in a host of tactical, operational leadership assignments in light infantry, airborne ranger, mountain, and mechanized infantry units. His career has included deployments to peace keeping/peace enforcement operations in Haiti and Bosnia-Herzegovina respectively, as well as multiple combat deployments. LTC Weis earned a PhD in Organizational Psychology from George Mason University in 2012 with emphasis on performance/action teams and leadership competencies in high-risk environments and has both published and presented research in a variety of military and non-military forums. Weis formerly served as Deputy Director in the United States Military Academy뭩 Simon Center for the Professional Military Ethic (SCPME) and served as the Course Director for West Point뭩 capstone course on Officership. In addition to his duties in the Strategic Leadership Department, LTC Weis also remains heavily involved in personal and consulting research endeavors, most notably by serving as a military subject matter expert (SME) on functional leadership competencies under stressful conditions for the National Research Council, serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Character and Leadership Integration, and provides frequent professional reviews to the Board of Behavioral, Cognitive, and Sensory Sciences, as well as to numerous peer-reviewed journals on leadership and moral development.
